Overview How Placement Day & Evaluation Works

Overview

Take your players' game to the next level by enrolling them in the Spring Academy. This program offers discipline; structure, repetition, and focused training that has helped some of the area's best players take their games to the next level. It is designed to help players improve through a progressive month-to-month build. Players will learn an array of skills to raise their in-game production, as well as heighten their basketball IQ making them smarter and more efficient basketball players. No matter, if your player wants a bigger role on the team, trying to earn more minutes, or simply looking to make the team, our Spring Academy, is guaranteed to help your player get better!

3rd-12th Grade Boys & Girls: Our Spring Academy is a 3-month commitment with 8 sessions per month. There are 2 sessions per week with a weekly make-up session on Fridays. The Spring Academy is invite-only! All players interested in the Academy must be evaluated to earn an invite. 'Placement Day' is our group evaluation for the Spring Academy. The Placement Day schedules and link to register are listed below.

How Placement Day & Evaluation Works

All players MUST be evaluated before gaining an invitation for this program. Placement day is our official tryout for all players interested in the Spring Academy Training Program (S.A.T.P).

Not all players are accepted. If you are not accepted we will inform parents what we do have to offer to help their player’s development. We may have to take a step back and get them ready so the Academy Class is beneficial for them. We do not want to overwhelm players or under challenge them.

For those whom are accepted, after the evaluation we will place your player in 1 of 3 classes; grey, blue or green. Grade, gender, talent, skill and athleticism are the difference in classes. Grey is our highest class, blue in the middle and our green class are for players that have not done a lot of skill work but still want to improve! Parents do not have a say on where their player is placed. Correct player placement is key to each of our players’ development and our management staff does a great job to ensure players are where they need to be to see success!

SPRING A.T.P. OVERVIEW

ALL players must be evaluated for this program
12-week commitment starting in March ending in May
2 sessions a week (90 minute sessions each class)
Part = 8 sessions
10 Friday Makeup sessions
Players are divided into different classes based on skill and talent.
Progressive Program: Each Session building on the next
10:1 Player to Coach Ratio
Curriculum Overview:
- Part I (March): Ball Handling & Finish Moves
- Part II (April): Shooting & Creating Space
- Part III (May): Setting & Using Screens & Moving w/out the Ball
Players need to bring their own basketballs

The monthly academy fee does not include the Academy Practice jersey fee. The Academy practice jersey is $20 and a one-time fee for players who do not have an Academy jersey.
